Puerto de la Cruz, Tenerife

Sitio Litre

Sitio Litre is one of the most interesting places to visit in Puerto de la Cruz, as part of the town´s History. Built in 1730 became the netherland wine company headquarter but in 1774, after 50 years, it was purchased by the english merchant Archibald Little and bought again by Charles Smith, owner of till the end of SXX. Nowadays belongs to the bussines man John Luca, who opened to public in 1996. Garden design, variety of flowers ( in special Orchids collection) and the diversity endemic vegetation made this place, from the beginning, a singular meeting point for artists. We should mention very important person as the novelist Agatha Christie, the painter Marianne North or even scientific explorers as well known as Richard Burton and Humbold And it´s not strange, that Sitio Litre had became a leisure spot for English colony in Tenerife, not only for it lovely gardens but also because it wonderful views to Teide and La Orotava Valley.
