Guachinche is local autoctonous name for a so called restaurant in the Canaries wich refers to establishment of low pretensions habilitated as such consisting of a hut with a few parasols. Local food is served: meat, ribs, fis, potatoes, and a variety of “mojos”, sauce which is served with the food. Guachinches are usually on the outskirts of a village or town which adds charm to the atmosphere; and why not, the adventure of going to a place not recommended by touroperators hotels.

Actually, Guachinches are family business where one can enjoy an excellent meal at very reasonable prices. They have because so popular among the tourist as well as residents that several books have been written about where to find them. Inspite of the thumble appareance of local setup, food is fresh and natural, and quality guaranteed. Ah!. The best of local wine can be had as well. Bon apetit.
